A fire broke out on Tuesday at the service centre of Kia Motors' showroom in Tinkune, Kathmandu, destroying the spare parts and a generator.
The fire that started at around 11.30 am due to a short-circuit was brought under control after an hour, with the help of five fire engines belonging to Nepal Army, Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force and the Juddha Fire Brigade.

Shops and houses adjacent to the showroom were, however, spared from the fire due to timely control.
Sandip Chachan, the executive director at Continental Trading Enterprises Pvt Ltd, the authorized of Kia Motors for Nepal, said quick response from locals and the police had helped prevent further spread of the fire.
Nothing can be said at this moment regarding the extent of the damage caused by the fire, Chachan added. KATHMADNU, September 30 (RSS)
