Mr. Gourdel was captured in Algeria’s Djurdjura National Park on Sunday. He had arrived in the country the previous day for a hiking holiday. Herve Gourdel, 55, was captured by the Islamist group Jund al- Khilifa while hiking in the Djurdura National Park on Sunday. He has just arrived in Algeria for a 10 days walking holiday. The video was released on Wednesday in which the militants threatened to kill professional mountaineering guide within hours unless France stopped bombing ISIS targets in Iraq by the end of the day.
The murder of Mr Gourdel lasts for 4 minutes and 46 seconds and the video is entitled as “A Message in Blood for the French Government” and it was released exactly 30 minutes after Barack Obama gave the speech vowing to destroy ISIS and its affiliates to the UN General Assembly. The video was posted on YouTube, which depicted that the White haired, Mr. Gourdel was surrounded by masked men holding Kalashnikov rifles.
